Installation precautions

The performance of the port lightning protector may be affected in the following cases:

• The port lightning protector is installed in reverse direction. Connect the IN end to the outdoor

network cable and the OUT end to the network port on the firewall.

• The port lightning protector is not well grounded. After the connection, use the multimeter to confirm

that the ground wire for the protector is as short as possible to ensure its good contact with the

grounding screw of the firewall.

• The installed port lighting protectors are not sufficient. If the firewall has more than one network port

connected with other devices through cables outdoor, install a lightning protector for each network

port.
