Initiating a disruptive load-balancing process
When a new uplink interface becomes operational, the NPV switch does not automatically perform a
remapping for load balancing. In the event of remapping, the NPV switch reinitializes each downlink
interface so that the node connected to the downlink interface registers with the core switch again. This
causes traffic interruption to the node.
Perform this task to initialize all downlink interfaces on an NPV switch for better load balancing.
To initiate a disruptive load-balancing process:
1. Click the Service tab.
2. From the navigation tree, select VAN Fabric Manager > SAN Configuration > Fabric
Management.
The Fabric Management page appears.
3. In the fabric resources tree on the page, select Fabric Management > Fabric name > VSAN name >
Switch > Switch name.
The Switch page appears.
