Step3 On the License Import tab, click Browse to select the activation file and click Import. The activation file

will be imported and the license will be activated on the IPS.

Activating on an H3C SecPath T5000-S3

Configuration guidelines

• A SecPath T5000-S3 IPS has two service cards that use separate licenses. You must register both

licenses to activate the two cards.

• The default management interfaces of the master board and the service cards use the same IP

address 192.168.1.1. To avoid address conflict, assign these interfaces different IP addresses on the

same segment.

Activation procedure

Step1 Connect the devices and log in to the web management interface of the T5000-S3 master board.

Use a crossover Ethernet cable to connect the network interface of the PC to the default Ethernet

management interface of the T5000-S3 master board. By default, the IP address of the default Ethernet

management interface is 192.168.1.1. Configure the IP address of the PC, 192.168.1.2 in this example.

Make sure the devices can reach each other.

Launch an IE browser and enter https://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. The login page shown in Figure

13 appears. Type the username admin, the password admin, the verify code, select English, and click
