Manually
The status of a manually added CPE device is unknown, or in other words, iMC BIMS considers the
device a virtual device before the device accesses iMC BIMS. When the device accesses iMC BIMS and
passes authentication, iMC BIMS updates the status of the device. You can define a name for a CPE
device when adding the device to iMC BIMS.
Click the Resource tab, and select Add Device in the navigation tree to enter the Add Device page.
Figure 10 Add Device
To add a device to iMC BIMS, input the following information:
Device Name: Name of the device to be added.
OUI: OUI of the vendor, which must be valid.
Serial ID: Serial ID of the device. The combination of OUI and serial ID uniquely identifies a device.
Device Group: Group to which a device belongs after it is added to iMC BIMS. By default, a device
does not belong to any group.
Click OK after your configuration.
Configuring CWMP parameters of a CPE
To enable a CPE device to communicate with iMC BIMS, you need to configure the following CWMP
parameters for the device:
ACS URL: URL that the CPE uses to access the iMC BIMS server.
ACS username and password: Username and password used by the CPE to access the iMC BIMS
server. The username and password should be the same as those configured in the iMC BIMS
system settings.
